Comments for Tyler and Heather

1-- Write about something well done.  What did you learn from this group?  What part of the Presentation seemed the best?

2-- Offer constructive criticism that would help this group.  What might have been more clear?  What part of the Presentation seemed the least polished?  Where did you want more clarity or development? What did this group miss? Etc.

The best and most thoughtful comments will likely include information, observations, quotes, statistics, connections, questions. . . or other material from your active listening notes.

Mark Cuban.

  1. Mark Cuban is an amazing guy we could all learn from. I share the vision of not wanting to work for the man. However, I feel that Mark is a bit of a hypocrite on the fact that he became successful off of other peoples work that he did not want to do himself. The slide show was ok but could have used more pics and a short video to keep audience involved. However, you did a great job with public speaking. Great job...

  2. Tyler and Heather, you did a good job at explaining why you think Mark Cuban is a visionary, you explained how he started with little money and became a billionaire, Cuban could have been considered an underdog. I also appreciated that the both of you had periodic eye contact with the audience.
One thing that could have improved your presentation is the use of wasted space on your power point, I would have liked to see pictures of Cuban, more color, and maybe bigger text? Another critique is that it was slightly hard to hear Heather. But these are nit-picky things, good job overall!

  3. I think the presentation was very well done. I learned a lot from the given information, as I knew nothing about Mark Cuban before. I think if I were to be asked about him now, I could give a little information. Something well done about the presentation was the use of fun facts. I liked that they knew his net worth dropped, and the fact that he had many little jobs. I think the little things are what made it most enjoyable. Something to critique would be the actual slideshow. I think it could have used some more color, or photos, or even a handout to go along with it. I felt that my interest wasn't captured at some points along the way.

  4. This was a good presentation with plenty of support. It also flowed well and they had good answers at Q&A. If any criticism, there were not a lot of outside examples as support. I mean things such as videos, websites, etc. Mostly typed examples on the power point. Other than that, great job!

  5. I'm not a Mark Cuban fan. However, you two did a great job of researching information on him, its always nice to see where someone comes from and you guys did a good job of highlighting those points in his life. The only critique I have is I would have like to seen a video, but that's my opinion. Great Job.

  6. Before the presentation I had never heard of Mark Cuban before and you guys did a great job of giving us examples of how he made himself into a billionaire via buying and selling companies for more than he paid for them. The only criticism I have is that the slides could have had more pictures on them or a video or something like that to keep the audiences attention other than just words on the screen. Great presentation overall though.

  7. Tyler and Heather, you guys did a good job on your presentation on Mark Cuban. I can relate to Cuban in that I also don’t like being told what to do and would rather be my own boss. I learned that Cuban is the owner of the NBA’s Dallas Mavericks and also an investor of the T.V. show Shark Tank. Tyler, you did a great job explaining Cuban’s 9 guidelines for getting rich. My favorite tip is live like a student. One constructive criticism I have is your PowerPoint was a little bit boring. I would have liked to see more color, pictures, and even a video. Other than that great job guys.

  8. I really enjoyed this presentation. Before this presentation I didnt really know much about Mark Cuban. Well know I do. I could tell you guys knew what you were talking about. You did a good job on not relying on your slides. One thing I could say is that you could have added a little more to the slides. To me they seemed a little bland. Maybe a couple of pictures could of helped. Other than that great job. I could tell the point you were trying to get across with what made him a visonary great job.

  9. 1. It is clear you guys did your research on Mark Cuban and explained his life very well. Nice job!
    2. The way you guys presented(one saying half and the other saying the other half) was a bit plain. I'd like to see you guys switch speaking roles a bit more and make it flow better. By applying these few adjustments, your presentation would be near perfect.

  10. This presentation was interesting. you guys have extensively done a research on Mark Cuban. His ownership of NBA's Dallas Mavericks is something i did not know. you also shed light on the ways that Cuban became rich. thank you for your presentation. my only criticism for you is to find for more videos on the subject of your presentation.

  11. I really enjoyed this presentation! I somewhat knew about Mark Cuban but I definitely learned a lot more from this presentation. I really liked in the powerpoint where this group did "What he started with" vs "What he has now". I thought that was unique and helped understand what Cuban overcome to become as successful as he is. I think there could have been a few clarifications on things, but overall it was great!

  12. Mark Cuban strikes me as the stereotypical billionaire who flaunts his extravagant wealth. Not that that's a bad thing. I was impressed by the way that he rose through the ranks to get to the status he is at now. He truly is a self-made man, as the saying goes. The presentation itself was very informative and entertaining.
However, one thing that could be improved upon would have to be the flow of the presentation. The slides seemed to be a little haphazard in their organization. Other than that, it was a good presentation.

  13. I learned a lot from this presentation because the other night my dad mentioned something about Mark Cuban, and I was able to tell my dad more about him. A part that was very good was the slide that was titled, "What he started with Vs What he has now". This slide made it clear to me that he really was a visionary. Then the comparison with Daymond John was a good idea because I had no idea that Mark Cuban was a shark. Overall, I noticed that your sides contained a lot of facts, not so much his passion. What did he truly love to do? Great presentation.

  14. I thought your presentation did a good job overall at explaining who Mark Cuban is. I didn't know much about his background prior to the presentation and found it very interesting that he came from nothing and has worked his way to were he is now. The only criticism that I had was at times it was hard to see what he real vision was. Other than that I thought overall it was a good presentation.

  15. The presentation of Mark's ideas and philosophies was the strongest part of the presentation. I thought his background was very interesting. The cover could have had a picture of Mark on it.

  16. I think that this group did a great job at outlining the presentation and gave the audience a very organized and polished slideshow. My favorite part of the presentation was the steps/guidelines that Tyler was able to present to the audience to show the clear visionary ideas Cuban was trying to share with the public. My only constructive criticism would be to rehearse or practice some of the pronunciation of proper knowns and unfamiliar vocabulary to give off a more confident and powerful voice when speaking. Tyler had a few minor slip ups on words, but nothing too harmful to the flow of the presentation.

  17. The information used his past achievements to outline his character well but the lack of images of the subject as well as the abundance of numerical data seemed superfluous
