Part One: The poem that caught my interest the most was "In Your Small Dream". To me, he poem was about feeling trapped and helpless. Even when trying to help others, you feel helpless. I especially feel this in this part of the poem: ""Get out. The wind is on its way." The old men frown." I really felt related to this poem because it can be so true. Some people don't want help and no matter how much you do for someone, none of it matters.
Part Two: My dream for myself is to actually follow my dreams in themselves. I have always wanted to be rich and it has clouded my vision of finding what I truly want to do. This semester has helped to show me that I should focus on things that will truly make me happy. I know for sure that I want to travel a lot in my life and whatever I do will involve that somehow. I want to learn patience, but the right kind of patience. Not the "sit around and wait for something to happen" kind of patience. I want to learn how to try things out and be patient when they don't work the way I want them to. I want to learn how to stay positive about my life even if I don't have a plan for my career. I want the courage to try something even when it sounds unrealistic. I want to learn how to climb and appreciate the climb of the mountain(of life) rather than just focusing on the peak. Life is a giant series of processes, and my dream is to learn how to navigate them while being happy.
Part Three: I would really like to see our country get away from greed. America's dream has turned into being rich without caring what happens to anyone but themselves. People put so much value on objects and treat objects better than they do people. I want this to change. I want people to value their interactions with people more and to treat people better. I want people to get off social media and go do something meaningful.

Last Journal -Cameron Ward

Part One:
The dream poem that initially caught my attention the most was the poem titled, In Your War Dream. It was different from the other poems, in that it was about a bomber crew having to fly 35 missions over enemy territory and enemy countries. All the other poems were fish themed, for some reason. I liked how he describes the countries and the land. "The orange one ahead looks cold. The purple one north of that is the one you must bomb." Up in the sky there is no politics, or diplomatic relations. All the land is more or less the same. No borders or anything.

Part Two:
Over the summer I helped out a friend of mine with his biplane ride business. He would travel to fly-ins and festivals with room to land a plane all over the state and he would give rides in his vintage 1930s biplane. He would give me a call when he needed me to help him out and I would get in my plane and fly over to wherever he was in my own plane. I absolutely loved doing it for him. This inspired me to think about doing my own biplane rides service when I get older. Now, my friend doesn't do his biplane rides business as his full time job. He's also a captain for Net Jets, a private jet charter company. I know that I would have to work hard to even begin to think rationally about opening up my own business. That's why I'm in college, to learn the necessary skills needed to succeed at my career and earn the money to finance my dreams.

Part Three:
I could get all sentimental here and spout cliches about how I want world peace and how everybody should just love each other and get along with each other. But I think more compartmentalized on these kinds of topics. I think a dream for my neighborhood is more realistic. I hardly even know my neighbors. I am not a hundred percent sure what the name is of the people who live across the street from me, the house with the two dogs in the fenced in backyard that always bark at me while I mow the lawn. I would really like to get to know my neighbors better. We are a neighborhood isolated from each other. Humans are social animals. We crave connection. I think that bringing my neighborhood together would help our community.

Part One:
I would say that Hugo's war dream held my attention the most. While not as estoteric as the wild dream, parts of this poem perplexed me, such as when Hugo wrote,"Inside old women bake bread. They yell, 'Return to the base.'". What do the old women signify in the dream? Why are they baking bread? On the other hand other parts of this poem make sense and are relatable, such as the choking on phlegm in the mornings.
Part Two:
One of my biggest dreams would be to hold a record for a speedrun of one of my favorite games or to win a tournement of a popular competitive game. I hope to accomplish this sometime within my lifetime. I see alot of speedruns and competitve tournements and would enjoy to possess such dexerity, focus, and determination.
Part Three:
My dream for my community, the marion gamer's guild, is to hopefully cause the club to grow and prosper. I hope more people join, as well as hold more events and tournements. I've enjoyed my membership of this club and I hope that this club is still running and functioning long after I've obtained my degree.

Part One:
My favorite poem by Richard Hugo is In Your Wild Dream. This one interests me the most because it was so out there and different. It is very similar to real life in the fact that one thing can lead to another. Like in the poem you are fishing and then there is a dog that wants to kill you. The craziest thing in the poem was the line, " You are riding a camel in Athens. The citizens yell "We are not Arab. This is not sand." The camel is a yacht". I found this line interesting because it seems as if it is so out of nowhere and I like it.

Part Two:
Everyone is probably saying that their dream in life is to find love and live happily ever after, while that is great and I would love that as well but my ultimate goal in life is to be a doctor. Ever since I was young I have always had a love for helping people. So, my dream is to become a doctor. If I were to get a little bit crazy and dream big I think I would love to be a general surgeon...possibly. Becoming a doctor takes a long time and is a huge commitment but I am determined to achieve my dream that I will do whatever it takes to get there.

Part Three:
A dream that I have for my country or even the world is to be cancer free. I know that is all I talk about is cancer, I talk about it my journals, in class, and in my final essay but cancer has been a huge pain in my butt to say the least. Everyone has been affected by cancer in some way shape or form I am sure of it. But if the world were to be cancer free we wouldn't have that problem anymore, we wouldn't have to lose time with loved ones because of this awful disease. Maybe my becoming a doctor has something to do with me wanting to find a cure for cancer...who knows maybe I will be working with a team of researches when they find the cure someday.

Part 1: the poem that caught my attention the most was "In Your Small Dream". The poem fully shows the unconscious terror and wonder in dreams. the dreams does a good job of making the reader know that the town is small and alone in the stark landscape and then we notice the unique building as a landmark for the roads. we explore and soon after we are desperately lost in a place that just recently seemed so familiar. It resembles life where we see the fork in the road with two paths and then suddenly we are lost and "look hard for the third road" when we never even looked down it in the first place.

Part 2: My dream for myself is a simple one. I am not seeking money or fame. my dream is one for security. I dream for a nice home where i can live happily with a family and never have to worry over income or work, where i could have family and friends over whenever there was time. in this dream there is no stress or burden flying like a cloud over my head and no long distance goal ahead of me, which would restrict me from enjoying the life i am living in that exact moment. it is, i am admitting, a selfish dream but in the end we ourselves are the ones that can ensure happiness because helping others into happiness always makes the world better but we cannot forget that we are not forced out of it as well.

Part 3: My dream for the world works parallel with the dream for myself. my dream is those who have found security or happiness would learn to help others. in the world today there are many who have much who continue to search for more to get. in this i see there is much dissent and sadness made, where the amount of resources we share are depleting and fewer are able to reach that safe place all the time. If the world were to help give back or share enough of what they have enough of then the pursuit of happiness would finally be considered the Journey to Happiness.

Last Journal

Part One:

All of the five poems by Richard Hugo are great, but if I had to pick my favorite it would be “In Your Wild Dream.”  The reason why this is my favorite is because it describes life so perfectly. Life is unpredictable. One second you might be in your room resting in your bed, and the next second you might be all the way across the country. This poem captures this theme very well.  Life is about living in the moment, not worrying about future problems and living every second to the fullest.  “You are alone.  Fishing again. You catch nothing. You dream you are dreaming all this.”  This line emphasizes the point that, in life, you never know what to expect.  Life is all about adapting to changes.

Part Two:

I have many dreams, but one my dearest dreams is to become a physician. Ever since I was little boy I always knew I wanted to become a physician.  As a kid, I used to dream of wearing a white coat and diagnosing diseases and performing long, gruesome surgeries. My dream is to become a pediatric surgeon.  Becoming a physician is not just a dream for me, it is a goal. I have worked very hard in school to get where I am today.  I have studied countless nights preparing for exams. I am currently completing my last year in college and am on my way of applying to medical school.

Part Three:

A dream I have for my country, Kenya, is to build a free clinic. Not only do I want to build a free clinic, I would like to spend several weeks throughout the year volunteering my time there. A lot of clinics in Africa find it extremely difficult to employ trained healthcare professionals to tackle the number of people who need care and treatment.  I know what it is like being in a country where access to healthcare is not readily available. I would also like to set up a non-profit organization to provide care to those who cannot afford it. Not only do I want to volunteer my time as a physician, I want to be able to educate people on the basis of health care.  I also want to be an educator.  A lot of people, not only in Kenya but the rest of Africa, get affected by many preventable diseases solely because they cannot afford it or they lack the proper knowledge. I want to make sure I do my best to help my people back home. I have this sense of obligation to give back to my country. I was fortunate enough to move to the United States and have the opportunity to get a good education. There are countless numbers of kids who weren’t fortunate enough to have the same opportunities as me. That is why I must work hard to accomplish my goal of becoming a physician and use my knowledge and skills to give back.

Part 1:
The Dream Poem that I connected to the best by Richard Hugo is In Your War Dream.  I have a passion for our armed services.  I was on my way to becoming a Marine.  In this poem,  I took the passage, "You ask, "Why must I do this again?" A man replies, "Home."" To me, I see that home is the big picture.  Yet, I don't thing many people know how to really take this passage.

See, when an armed service member is on tour fighting for their country, home is the backbone of their fight.  Not just the survival of making back home.  They don't just fight to make it back home to see the family, but they fight in life and death so that their family and loved ones never have to fight that fight.  Upon signing and enlisting into the service, you know immediately that you are the sole protector of your "Home".  Of coarse, all you want to do is get back to home when your in a different country in conflict.  However, as I said, I believe the misconception to this passage is the thought that the man wants to get back home so he just simply survives.

I could keep going here, but I will let you ponder this for awhile.

Part 2:

A dream of mine is to find a way to still become part of the NBA.  I had dreams to play in the NBA way before I went to grade school.  I always thought I was on track to actually achieve this dream of playing for the Cavaliers.  However, I messed my knee up pretty good in 2004.  My sophomore year in high school, during a basketball practice.  Then I began my career in basketball as a coach and I love it.  So, if there was any way for me to train and make better the players in the NBA as a job, I would definitely do so to chase my passion for the game.

Part 3:

The best way to reach a the pursuit to happiness is to work on our humanity as a country.  We need to start here in America.  I feel that we preach humanity in higher education so much, that we should actually start using it.  We have lost touch with our mindset as to why we came to the new land.  We evaded taxes, religion, and power coming here.  I am highly religious as a christian in my faith.  However, my faith in this country is beginning to falter.  Rome fell when they lost humanity and began to tax too much, began to create a military too big, expanded as a nation too far, and lost the voice of the people.  We are beginning to lose our mission statement as a new nation, and we have almost lost the voice of our people.  Fix humanity, fix our country.  Happiness is in the eye of the beholder.

Last Journal/Sam Fox

Part I. In Your War Dream, caught my attention the most probably because I read it first. After reading it, I was relieved to find that I'm not the only person to such crazy random dreams. I could relate to all the dreams in the packet but I liked the war dream the best. My favorite lines from the poem is when Hugo writes," The nations are bright like a map. You pass over the red one. The orange one ahead looks cold". This may sound like some nonsense but, in a dream it seems like orange being cold makes so much sense. Your can explain all types of phenomenon and feel so enlightened then when you wake up you can't remember what you figured out or you can't make sense of your thought process. I also liked how it felt like everything in this dream was a matter of urgency. We can all relate to that.

Part II. My eccentric or what I will call my selfish dream. I think it would be awesome to make a living being myself. Have a little T.V. camera crew follow me around and do different things each day, what ever needs to be done that day or what ever I felt like doing. We could do a fishing show one day, a hunting show the next, home improvement projects, welding and machining projects, build your own off road vehicle, and interviews different experts in all different fields of expertise. It would be the best of both worlds career wise because you could do whatever you felt like doing or needed to get done around the house. Not only would you have the time to do the things that needed done you would also get paid to do it. I realize that is not a realistic dream, all I'm saying is that it would be cool.

On a more serious note, its more important to give my kids the opportunity for their dreams to come true. Seeing them excited and happy has brought the most joy in my life. It's funny how your priorities change when you have family. So, hopefully with this degree that I'm chasing one step at a time, I be able to provide the best opportunities for my children to succeed in life and also enjoy it.

Part III. I don't have a real good answer for this one but, I guess I would like to see more community projects. Whether it be house building or refurbishing projects or anything else you can think of. Whenever you get a chance to bring people together and work as a team for the common good. You get the best out of humanity. An example of this would be, like hurricane Harvey in Houston, Texas. Its unfortunate that it usually takes a natural disaster for people to work together. But, its a great example to show us we are capable of when we work together. So, I guess I'm for anything that brings people and communities together to work towards a common goal.

Journal 9---Jake Ritzert

Part One: My favorite poem out of the Richard Hugo packet was the last poem attached, The Good Dream. I think the poems structure and flow were better than the other poems, but maybe I just enjoy poems with more than one stanza, as the others were all one stanza poems. I have read the poem multiple times and I am still confused about who the narrator is inside the poem. I think it is a young boy who is skipping church or observing a town that is a little utopian, but he is not allowed in. "Girls won't pick on you here." This final line in the first stanza makes me feel like it must be a school boy or young child.
Part Two....and Part Three:
My dream kind of involves myself and the rest of humanity as I wish for a world that respects themselves and values their place in the world. I feel that many people are losing respect for our environment because we no longer need to personally labor any of the resources from it due to our technological advancements. As our technology progresses humans no longer get to have a bond between the food we are consuming and the origins of where it has come from. Our food all extents from plants at some point. It is essential that the food is as natural in its form that it can be because eventually the chemicals and pesticides found in it will, ultimately, end inside our bodies as we are at the very top of the food chain. This has already happened to our oceans, as the top predators contain large amounts of mercury and other dangerous chemicals. If we can focus on keeping and treating our environment in a clean way, then humans can remain a healthy species for a longer time. To do this, we need to change the way we view nature as a way to fuel humans technological advancements, but as our means of survival. We would not be anywhere as a species without clean food and water that can only be found in the place that we are tearing apart. It is a very obvious problem and one that our government and economy can't face because it will cause for our economy to collapse.
Is it reasonable to keep slowly depriving and poisoning the earth if it prevents the economic collapse of one of humans most explorative and technologically advanced civilization?
This is the question I believe many scientist must have been asking themselves over the years, but our technological advancements might have been able to solve this problem. Many countries are starting to become devoted to using clean energy, a form that is renewable, which will help solve some of economic inefficiency. However, if we try to remove the source of the problem, we need to focus on not finding a better way of using energy, but first help repair and heal the world. We need to rid the land of pesticides and fertilizers that are toxic to our bodies.

Journal #9 - Lexi Patterson

Part One: Of all of Richard Hugo's poems, "In Your Wild Dream" was my favorite. To me, this poem is about having a dream that has set backs and bumps in the road, but after struggling for a while, you learn just to go with the flow. Let the dream take you, and realize that everything you need to succeed, is right in front of you. "Around you beautiful flowers are blooming. You know now you need nothing to live, food, love or water. You giggle and giggle because you are free. Birds above you keep flying away."
Part Two: One of the biggest dreams I have is to get into The Ohio State's School of Veterinary Medicine. Most people do not understand how difficult it is to actually get accepted into vet school. Due to the small number of veterinary schools around the country, it is actually harder to get into vet school than medical school. Ohio State's vet school receives around 1,200 applications every year and only accepts 162 new students. That's a 13.5% acceptance rate. So, to me, my dream is very eccentric and difficult to pull off, even if others don't think so.
Part Three: One dream I have for our country is to "go green" and help save the environment. I truly believe our planet is headed down a bad path with global warming, deforestation, and the extinction of animals. I believe if everyone does one small thing a day to help save our planet, we could make a tremendous impact.

Dreams and Visions: Zachery Smith

Part One: The Poem from Richard Hugo that I was most interested in was in your war dream. This poem caught my interest the most because he has to go back and re-live what has already happened to him. Which is similar to the dreams I have I tend not to dream about the future rather of past experiences that I have already been through. My favorite line from the poem was the last "You must fly your 35 missions again." This shows that he is reliving his time in war as exactly as it was before which is why I connected to this poem because that's how my dreams are too.

Part Two: A dream that I had was that one-day id be able to start my own business. I don't remember in the dream what exactly what kinda of business I owned. But I have always had an interest in cars so id like to own some kinda of business someday that is related to cars.  Id would have never thought that in my wildest dreams that I would own my own business and it's definitely something that I wanna accomplish in my life.

Part Three: A dream that I have for our country is that one day it will be able to provide the opportunity for everyone that wants to go to college that they can. I truly believe this is something that we need to all come together to accomplish because education can allow people to pursue whatever career they want and isn't that what the American dream is all about providing an opportunity that people haven't had before. This is something that I truly dream about for the country that I live in.

My Final Journal Entry -- Heather Campbell

The poem I feel the most emotion with is the last one. As I read this poem I could feel the emotional distress and confusion that the person wrote. None of the streets were recognizable to the person although it was his own home, none of the buildings were quite the way he remembered it. I love that the poems never state what happened that made this person see or feel what they did. The ambiguity of these poems is what makes the readers come to their own personal conclusions on what happened, personally I feel that it was PTSD or something similar.

A dream I have for myself is to one day have a family put together only by unconditional emotions. Never once do I wish for my husband to doubt me, nor will I doubt him. I wish for my husband to support me regardless of how silly some things I want to be may seem. I wish to have children who will never think to themselves that they hate me, I wish for my children to never face a childhood similar to mine. I wish for my family to agree to disagree on what is their favorite show or what kind of food is the best. I wish for a family where there is no secrets, cheating, unrealistic promises, hopeless nights, and so on. I dream of a day where I won't have to worry about someone doing disgusting things to their child in the ways that were done to me. I dream of a family built on love not being stuck together to look good to family members and our children.

The community, state, and country needs to be more aware of the people who are struggling to survive post sexual assault. In Hollywood there  has been accusers/victims coming forward and that's great, but  there needs to be focus on victims who aren't old enough to know that what is happening to them is wrong. Stranger danger is a theory placed into the minds of children causing them to think only strangers do bad things to them. What about the neighbor across the street? The Uncle? The aunt? The sister? The Brother? The person someone is dating? Sexual assault cases come from primarily someone the victim knows, children who are victims don't even know something bad is happening to them, in their minds they're playing doctor, school, etc.. My dream is that the community can find a way to keep the children away from sexual assault.

Part I

The poem that caught my eyes and interested me the most was "In Your Wild Dream" by Richard Hugo. This poem is describing how dreams can take you in different world at the same time. It is how life is. One day you are happy and have all  your life together, and the next minute you can be broke and with nothing. For instance, You are riding a camel in Athens. The citizens yell, "We are not Arab. This is not sand." This shows that life can take you anywhere and it is unpredictable. We try our best to prepare for life but it is not guaranteed where it takes you.



Part II
I always worry dying without accomplishing anything to the humanity. I dream helping poor people anywhere in the world. I dream giving money to any needy person willing to stand on his or her feet for every hardworking man and women because there are people who badly want a support to start a new life. I want to be generous a giving person. I don't know why billionaire keep the money for themselves or just give little and become gready?. What are they going to do with that money while we have a lot of poor or hungry people in United States?I dream eliminating the  need of the people, people who are willing to work but having difficult situation.

Part III

One of my biggest dream I want to share is I always like to spread the knowledge I have. I mean I like to teach people and teach them what I know. I want to volunteer and give back to the community anyway possible. For instance, when I graduate from OSU, I like to teach people technology for free. There are so many people out there who are smart but for some reason don't know what do with that smart mind. I want to give them an idea how the technology works. I would like to open free schools and free universities. Giving back like the "Giving Tree"as along as I live.

Part one : I really like the poem in your wild dreams. I like it for the fact that it teaches you to use your imagination. You can be in the most dull atmosphere ever, and make something great out of it. I really enjoyed reading this. I gets you thinking. I should use my imagination more often. You can have so much fun in nature. My favorite quote was" You know now you need nothing to live, food , love or water" " Young giggle and giggle because you are free" to me that means so much. You are free to set your mind to what it wants to wander into something great.

Part two: I know this sounds cicque but my dream is to be happy with the person I love. I want  a time where we don't have to worry about how we are going to make ends meat. I want to dream of a day where I don't live pay check to pay check. I want to start a family with the person I love so much. I don't want a fancy house. I just want to make sure I am taken care for and don't have to worry.

Part three: My dream for the future would be to help those around me. I would do this with the social work degree I am currently in school for. I want to help those who battle addiction. If successful I could make a difference in our community. Since we are currently overrun by drugs. If I could reach out to the users. Maybe I could make a difference. If I could focus on the individuals I could make an impact. Maybe I could even get the stigma with drug users to go away. I know it sounds like alot but there is hope.

Dreams and Visons - Justine

Part One:
The Dream poem that I found most interesting is the In Your War Dream. It caught my attention because of the phrase "You ask, "Why must I do this again?" A man replies, "Home."." My immediate thought was that this is the hope that so many soldiers hold on to during war; its what keeps so many going.  This really adds to the setting of the poem and shows a little piece of the inside the minds of soldiers. After reading the poems, this quote is what stayed with me.

Part Two:
My dream is to be able to do a little bit of everything. There are so many interesting places and things to do that its difficult to choose one thing! I have so many interests such as music, art, and firearms. I can learn to play different musical instruments, learn to cook different foods, or learn different survival skills. This can expand my knowledge of different subcultures and of the world. I can use these experiences to help or teach others; and who knows? Maybe I'll discover a life passion that I'll want to devote my time to in midst of it.

Part Three:
My dream for our country is an education system that balances life skills, creativity, and basic subjects such as math, English, and history. I see other people promoting a move for this and college student posting on social media wishing they learned about W-2s, taxes, etc. As we know, our education system is centered around test scores and classes related to music and the arts are cut first. I believe that we need an education system that promotes learning advanced levels of math, English and writing, and history and allows the opportunity to learn to be creative. I believe that this will improve the mentality of students, the success and the learning of students, and overall, the well-being of future generations.

Brooke Voisard - Dreams and Visions Journal

Part One:
The poem "In Your Small Dream" caught my interest because I loved the way a small town was described. There is very vivid imagery, and I was drawn immediately to it because I could picture the scene perfectly. It reminded me of downtown Marion in the line "Same red brick buildings but without the trim. Same drab roasting buildings. Young men and cafes. You call it Main Street." This reminded me of Marion because there's a huge amount of brick buildings, though I don't remember if they have trim or not, and there's a few cafes here and there on Main Street. The similarities created a nostalgia for me because that's not really the best area anymore, though I liked to be there when I was young.
 Part Two:
I dream to be happy. I'm not sure about my future and what I want to do in life yet, but I don't want to be stuck doing something that I hate just because of money. My goal is to be courageous in my decisions, something I sometimes lack now. I want to have the courage to do what I want without boundaries. I want to be able to quit a good paying and comfortable office job to pursue any dream I have. I don't want to be held back by anything. I want to spend time with the people that I love and never lose them to my job or my obligations. Nothing is or ever will be more important than time with loved ones.
Part Three:
My dream for my country, my community, and my world is the same. I dream that someday everyone will have a better understanding of each other that will lead to compassion, empathy, and kindness. My dream is that everyone finds fulfillment and love in the world from their families and those around them. I dream that one day I will turn on the news and see a broadcast without a hate-based shooting or bombing. My vision for the world is simple. I want love to replace hate. I want acceptance to replace discrimination. I want to give back to the world all it has given me, and I believe I will figure out the perfect way to do that in time.

Dreams and Vision: Nuh Issack

Part one:

The poem by Richard Hugo  that captured my attention is " in Your War  Dream". Hugo describes the difficult situation that soldiers go through when they go for war. In such a situation one is required to live in a condition that is not interesting for the person. " food is still bad". Here, the poet is trying to shade some light on the basic needs that the men in the war may sometimes lack. in addition to not having good food to eat, these soldiers are subjected to work under a harsh environment. " you stand beside the odd water. A terrible wind keeps knocking you down" All these show that the soldiers in the fight are living in unhappy conditions.

Part two

 A dream for myself 

I have a dream and I am working hard towards a achieving it. My dream is to become a pharmacist and a professor in mathematics and chemistry.  A journey of one thousand miles starts with one step. By this i mean i have taken the initial steps to make this possible. but this just a tip of the iceberg, the storm is yet to come. I have a lot left for me to accomplish my dream. However, I have the commitment, dedication and  courage to do this and I will one day reach my dreams.

Part three

The dream that I have my country, Somalia, which is about to be removed from the world map due a civil war that lasted for almost thirty years is to see it stand on her own feet and compete with the rest of the countries. I also have a dream for the young generations of my country and hope to see them  get a decent education and make a difference in their country and the world.

Part 1:

The poem from Richard Hugo that caught my interest is “In Your Small Dream.” Hugo describes a small town with a unique building and three different streets coming out of it. I liked how he described three streets, the main street where most restaurants are there and he is thrown out from those restaurants because he didn’t have any money, and he also talks about the third street, which is isolated and may be full of criminals, the third road is severe and you may never see. My favorite paragraph was at the bottom of the poem where Hugo describes the journey on the third street, “The day darkens. You look hard for the third road. You ask a giant, Where? The giant glowers, “The third road is severe.” You run and run.” 

Part 2:

Every day I come up with a new dream and add them to my list of existing dreams, some of which I have already accomplished and the others I am trying my best to reach it. Like people say, “Sky is the limit,” I try my best to achieve it. One dream or goal that I have and is one of my top priorities is to live my life to its fullest, a life where I can spend my time with my family who has helped me at every phase of my life, a life where I can interact more with the nature, a life where I won’t spend my time browsing on internet. School and work make it difficult for us to go out and live a life, plus the addition of smartphones makes it worse.

Part 3:

A vision that I have for my country is to give back to them, I am from India and not many people there could afford drugs. I had worst experiences with the retail pharmacies in India, industrial Competition makes drugs very expensive and hard to reach for the middle class and lower-class societies. In addition to that, some pharmacies give out drugs without a prescription by charging a little more, which is unsafe on part of both patient and the pharmacist. I aim to be a Pharmacist and go back to India to help people in my country who cannot reach out to expensive drugs. I cannot bring a change in a country with billions of people alone, change must come from the people by educating them and involvement, and strict rules from the government.

Dreams and Visions Journal-Annie

     Out of the five poems that we read by Richard Hugo I liked the "In Your Wild Dream".  I liked this poem because it reminded me of my dreams.  I think we all have these types of dreams where you are doing something and then all of the sudden the plot changes or there are people there that don't make sense.  In Your Wild Dream reads, "You are riding a camel in Athens... The camel is a yacht. You cruise a weird purple river. Girls doze on the bank. One stands up and waves. You yell, "Where is the town?" You are alone..."  This makes me laugh every time I read it, it resonates with me because some times my dreams jump around like it did here!
     To be honest, I don't have very many dreams, I like to think about the future and what it might bring but I don't have any out of the norm/eccentric dreams.  My dream (which is already a goal of mine) is to pass schooling and become a dental hygienist.  I am really excited for the day that I can have a job that I will love going to everyday!  Another dream that goes along with a dream job is to have a dream family; I dream that my future family will be healthy and able to spend lots of time together.
     When thinking about dreams for the country all that came to mind were political thoughts, but I was able to think of a fun dream (and probably an eccentric one as well!).  I dream that one day in my life the Reds will be able to win the world series! I have followed the Reds for the majority of my life and I think it would be very cool to get to experience the atmosphere in Cincinnati if the Reds ever made it to the world series again!  It would be even more of a fairy tale if they won!

Dreams and Visions Journal - Jo

Part One:
The poem that caught my interest the most was "In Your Wild Dream". I understood the poem to be about life and how crazy it can be. One second life is good, then you blink and something traumatic has happened. The quote "You are fishing but have walked away from your rod. Your rod bends and flies into the lake", is a perfect example. One minute you are fishing, then you look away for a second. Then your rod disappears. Things like this happen all the time in life.

Part Two:
A dream for myself is to follow in my parents footsteps. My parents are very successful. They started with nothing when they got married at a young age. They have many friends who would do anything for them and vice versa. They also give back to our community immensely, like being in charge of our local American Legion. I don't know how they keep everything in line along with the farm, me and my sister but they do and it's great. I dream to be as great as them one day.

Part Three:
A dream for my neighborhood would be for it to keep growing. I live around the small Village of Ashley and I have seen one of the lowest parts for the town. Now it growing again and actually looks really cute. For my village to be great again, along with my state and country, it needs participation from its citizens. People get suck in their everyday lives and don't look outside that and help others. It amazing what a difference people can do when they get together. Also when people get help or help others, it makes everybody happy. I have witnessed it from experience.

Dreams and Vision Journal Tyler Beers

So the one dream that I had always had is to open a sports bar and of course name it Beers and Friends.  Well with me not doing so with business degree here at Ohio State Marion i don't think i can't peruse the sports bar dream anymore.  So i guess my "now dream" is to have a family and to get a good job so I can support my family. Also along those lines I would want to go on a lot of family vacations, be able to go to sport events and concerts if possible.  I would like that because I was very lucky growing up because my parents always made sure we had family vacations and going to sporting events growing up.

So the dream I have for my community is for everyone to get along with one another and maybe help this town out by opening some businesses around the area could really help also.  Because of right now nobody is nice to one another.  Also we don't have very many businesses in the area so if there is more businesses the more available jobs for the community that I live in.
