Hog Hunting

Hog hunting is just like deer hunting.  They are both best to hunt at the break of dawn and at nightfall.  Some of the most effective hunting strategies are spot and stalk, stand hunting, and dog hunting.  The spot and stalk strategies is effective because wild hogs have a good sense of hearing and smell.  But there eyesight is very poor.  So once you spot the pig you stalk them because they have the poor eyesight.  Stand hunting is basically the same thing as hunting deer out of a tree stand.  With dog hunting most new hunters will need to go with a guide because of the lose restrictions.
Different types of rifles that are used for hog hunting are a .243 caliber, .45/70, .450 marlin, .444 marlin.  Some of the bigger states that do hog hunting are Texas, Florida, California, Carolina, Tennessee,  and Mississippi.  https://www.fieldandstream.com/blogs/generation-wild/2008/06/hog-hunting-101

  3. Wow that hog looks giant! I would love to know just how large this subculture is compared to deer hunting. Is this sport significantly more dangerous than deer hunting? So many questions! Love the fact that Jeremy said he would use a spear, sounds like a life experience and thrill.
